Everything standard for me. 8 civs including mine, standard city states, standard game speed and map size. It crashes sometimes but auto saves every 2 turns makes that easy enough to deal with. In terms of performance it's usually fine, at least until you do earth satellite, and after that it can get a bit laggy but never too much IMO.

Support for custom civs & city states:When you start a game from scratch (the game menu) is the map created truly random (i.e. the game shuffles tiles around), or are you simply given a "random" pre-created map from a pool? Some start positions are starting to look suspiciously familiar... Also, is it true that if instead of starting from scratch you hit the restart button, you will simply start somewhere else on the same map?
Island plates is one of my favorite map types. If you lower the sea level it can turn into a spindly pangaea, or if you raise it you get a less splintered archipelago. I probably play 80% fractal, 10% primordial, 10% seven seas. yeah it always seemed to me to be the most "realistic" of all the options.

Just email or upload the map somewhere. Then they just need to download it and move it into the Maps folder in the game files. It should work after that. I believe that you can play custom maps in multiplayer. Fractal or shuffle for a more exciting game, Continents with Islands for a more normal game, Mediterranean is the only preset map I like at all, it’s actually really fun. Large mediterranean, true start or not. It's by far the best map with the best geography. I'm just curious as to what people's opinions are about how Civ 6 map maker generates rainforests (jungles). Personally I dislike the way rainforests seems to be scattered randomly and almost evenly over the entire half of the map or more that's closest to equator.

I think his problem is that you cannot download/upload a file to console, so if only a save is available then console players cannot play.
