491 posts · Joined 2017. #2 · Dec 18, 2017 (Edited) I have changed the oil, spin on transmission filter, and rear axle lube on all of my Duramax diesel pickups around the 1,000 mile mark and I will do the same with my new Denali when I order it in early Spring. My RWD cars also get their oil and rear axle fluid change around the 1,000 mile point.

Earlier gen hose required 5/8" hose it seems while the L5P uses 7/8" id. If it is that tight on there, be prepared for a fight to the death with that filter that is on there. You may need a strap wrench, or a metal band oil filter wrench, or even large oil filter pliers.

The only concerns that anyone really has had with the L5P platform is still the emissions related stuff: DEF heaters, NOx sensors, etc. The truck is strong, smooth, and quiet. You'll love it.
