Gsg firefly problems.
The double action trigger is abominal and the single has a long reset. Way better off with a TX-22 either the regular or competition model. I have both and love them. With the original TX-22 I put 15 rounds on a upper body steel plate at 50 yards in about 6 seconds. The mosquito/firefly is made by GSG.

In short, they seem to have trouble cycling anything but high velocity rounds, IE: CCI Mini Mags. Not good to have a picky eater in hard times.GSG is owned by SIG Sauer’s parent company, and for many years GSG manufactured the SIG Mosquito. The FireFly is the same gun rebranded and with some improvements in reliability. I owned a Mosquito a few years ago and suffered many feeding issues. Those problems have been resolved in the FireFly.Part of the problem is when the original manufacture itself cannot provide support for a model it talks another manufacturer into supporting, and branding! GSG still manufactures the Firefly, but what kind of support can you find for it? The likely reason Sig dropped it, like a hot potatoe! Gun now functions perfectly again. Was a self-inflicted problem. I have owned my GSG-1911 .22 since they first came out. I absolutely loved the little gun as it was completely reliable with virtually any ...Maybe it'll smooth out with some use. I have a 22/45 but I prefer the GSG 1911-22 that I chose rather than the Firefly. The 22/45 is more prone to FTF when it gets dirty than the 1911-22. Also, the GSG 1911-22 is cheaper and looks like a normal 1911 while the 22/45 looks like Ruger product (which I like).

Not familiar with the Firefly but, if it is a rebranded Mosquito, then run (don't walk) away from that one. IMHO the problem with all of these 22LR combat style look-alikes is that they all suffer from 1 or 2, or both problems. Since SIG will no longer be carrying the Mosquito, GSG has adopted the gun design and will be selling them in the U.S. as the .22 GSG Firefly.GSG 1911/22 problem. My GSG seems to have one nagging problem, failure to go into battery. I've checked and what is holding it open, that fraction of an inch, is the extractor. It hits the face of the extractor slot, and stops the slide just short of battery. If I just put my thumb on back of slide it goes into place easily.

I have a 'Skeeter and I remember people saying disabling the magazine disconnect will lighten the trigger.
