Abstract. We report the discovery of an extended very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray source around the location of the middle-aged (207.8 kyr) pulsar PSR J0622+3749 with the Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The source is detected with a significance of 8.2σ for E>25 TeV assuming a Gaussian template.

However, puzzling results concerning its velocity, distance, and low rotational period derivative have led to reexamination of its properties. We present updated radio timing observations along with new and archival optical data that show PSR J1024$-$0719 is most likely in a long period (2$-$20 kyr) binary system ...The pulsar's spin-down rate implies a rotation-powered luminosity E-dot = 1.2x10{sup 38} erg s{sup -1}, a surface dipole magnetic field strength B{sub s} = 1.0 x 10{sup 12} G, and a characteristic age of 8.9 kyr. PSR J2022+3842 is thus the second-most energetic Galactic pulsar known, after the Crab pulsar, as well as the most rapidly rotating ...

[1] A paleomagnetic study was conducted on four piston cores newly obtained from the West Caroline Basin in the western equatorial Pacific in order to investigate variations in paleointensity and inclination during the last 400 kyr. Spectral analysis of climate data shows a strong narrow peak with period ≈100 kyr, attributed by the Milankovitch theory to changes in the eccentricity of the earth's orbit. The narrowness of the peak does suggest an astronomical origin; however the shape of the peak is incompatible with both linear and nonlinear models that ...The age of PSR J1814[1744, if P > P and n \ 3, Especially noteworthy is the proximity of PSR 0 is 85 kyr. (1996) in an undirected pulsar survey using the 305 m Arecibo radio tele-scope. The pulsar has a large characteristic age τc = P/2P˙ = 620 kyr and a dispersion measure (DM)-estimated distance of 1.2 kpc. Based on the positions and distances of PSRand GeV γ-ray bands. W44 hosts the pulsar PSR B1853+01, a 20 kyr pulsar with dE/dt= 4.3 x 10e35 erg s-1 located approx. 3 kpc away. W44 has not been detected by H.E.S.S. during the HGPS, but H.E.S.S. reported significant emission with only one of their analysis chains at the location of W44, without claiming a detection (Abdalla et al., 2018)."
